artist's books (and print suites)
'The State We're Out' and 'A Life in Relief' are novels without words in the style of Franz Masereel. Both were printed letterpress as limited-editioned 'artist's books' and as print suites. They have been exhibited widely and Brendon had the honour of representing Ireland with a selection of prints from 'The State We're Out' at the international 'Kandinsky to Corneille, Linoleum in 20th Century Art' exhibition at the Cobra Museum Voor Moderne Kunst, The Netherlands, in 1999. 'A Life in Relief' was shortlisted as one of the best printed books in Ireland at the National Print Awards in 2006.
